Macron Jostles His Way to Stand Near Trump in G20 Photo

At the G20 family photo-op, French President Emmanuel Macron was caught cheerily jostling his way to the front of the photo to stand next to U.S. President Donald Trump.

Apparently, he was actually following protocol, since it is typical for the newest world leaders to stand on the outer edges of the front row. So it makes sense that Trump and Macron would be standing next to each other, having both just recently taken office.

However, since Macron seems to have gained a small reputation for gleefully challenging the U.S. president, some media have taken the move as a predatory one: Macron closing in on Trump “like a shark,” and refusing to be intimidated by the American president’s hard line against the Paris Climate Deal.

Watch the video and decide for yourself: Was Macron merely following protocol?
