As twinned cities, Paris and San Francisco have a special bond. The city and county of San Francisco, the Consulate General of France in San Francisco, and Grace Cathedral are organizing a public solidarity concert for Monday, April 29, in honor of the famous French cathedral, Notre-Dame de Paris, which was devastated by a fire on Monday, April 15. The concert will take place in Grace Cathedral, whose French gothic architecture was inspired by the Parisian cathedral.

The concert will bring together several local musical ensembles, including the San Francisco Symphony, the San Francisco Opera and the American Bach Soloists. Johann Vexo, organist at Notre-Dame de Paris, will also be present. The event will also highlight the cities’s relationship since they first established the familial connection in 1996.

The event is free and open to all.
