This Gourmet Tartine Is Easy (And Cheap!) To Make

A plate of food with a sandwich and a salad

If you think that sandwiches are an American specialty, you are very wrong my friend. No one does sandwiches like the French, who can take such simple ingredients like ham and butter and turn it into a Jambon Beurre sandwich of delight.

Turn away from your every day peanut butter and jelly on Wonder Bread and turn toward Alex, my favorite French YouTube Chef, who knows how to make a delicious, gourmet open faced sandwich (called a tartine) that you and all of your co-workers at the lunch table will be in awe of.

Did I mention this sandwich only costs a total of $2.49 to make? Gourmet AND on budget. It really doesn’t get any better than this. Made with ham, salted butter, asparagus and a special French parsley called chervil, the tartine is a healthy lunch option as well, and includes some specialty French flavors that you won’t find in your typical deli sandwich.
