The countdown is officially on, with less than a month to go until we usher in 2026—or what may just feel like a quarter-life crisis for the 21st century. In Paris, the holiday season is nothing short of enchanting: the Champs-Élysées sparkles with dazzling lights, the luxury brand holiday window displays are always a hit, winter villages serve up warm vin chaud, and, naturally, champagne flows freely.

Paris offers an endless array of ways to celebrate New Year’s Eve. Whether you’re into chic house parties, prix-fixe dinners at gourmet restaurants, luxurious hotel soirées, outdoor fireworks displays, sensational performances, or family-friendly fun, there’s something for everyone on the last night of the year. And to make the evening even easier, all public transportation in Paris is free after 5 pm on December 31st—giving you stress-free access to wherever the night takes you (and leaving Uber and taxi drivers to celebrate, too).

To help you plan, we’ve curated a list of the best ways to spend New Year’s Eve in Paris. Choose your adventure and get ready to welcome 2026 á la Parisienne!

Where to Watch NYE Fireworks in Paris

Alexandre III bridge with firework in Paris.

The Arc de Triomphe fireworks and light show are the crown jewel of New Year’s Eve in Paris. Though the annual concert has been canceled due to security concerns, midnight fireworks display will still take place according to plan. The Champs-Élysées, which is closed to traffic for the occasion, transforms into a lively pedestrian zone. Arrive early to secure a prime spot (but remember that this is not the ball drop in NYC, one or two hours early will suffice), though nearby side streets or even higher ground in Montmartre will also offer excellent views. For a different point of view, head to the Trocadéro for a stunning view of the Eiffel Tower.

Important to note: Motorized traffic is restricted in central Paris, and some metro stations near the festivities will close early, so plan accordingly. For security reasons, bag checks and access controls will be in place.
