French Restaurants in NYC Offering Valentine’s Day Specials

Nothing could be more romantic than taking your beloved to dinner in Paris, right? Unfortunately, not all of us have the money or time to embark on a French vacation in the middle of February. Luckily, New Yorkers can enjoy the next best thing: Dinner for two at one of NYC’s best French restos. These French restaurants have special Valentine’s Day menus to offer you an unforgettable culinary experience with the one you love.

Valentine’s Day Specials at New York’s Best French Restaurants

1. Sirrah

The Meatpacking District’s Sirrah is best known for stunning dining room and its decadent prix-fixe menu centered around steak-frites—there are other options, but it’s really about the perfectly-cooked hanger steak here—which includes an amuse-bouche, bread service, salad, main course, unlimited French fries, and a light serving of fresh berries and whipped cream to finish. On Valentine’s Day, this menu has been supplemented with champagne, caviar, and a specialty dessert, priced at $200 per person. If you’d prefer something a bit more cost-effective, however, you might try to get a midday reservation for their newly-launched “Brunch, Voulez-Vous?” service, which offers the original prix-fixe menu for $60, plus two glasses of champagne, on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm.

2. Le Jardinier

The Michelin-starred Midtown restaurant Le Jardinier, known for its vegetable-forward and highly-seasonal menu, will be offering a 4-course dinner menu this Valentine’s Day for $225, and a 6-course menu for $295, with an optional wine pairing for $155 per person. The prix fixe menus will include dishes like Grilled Tuna, pan-fried Scallops with black truffles, Vol-au-Vent de Homard, Wagyu Ribeye, Cured Hamachi, Ricotta Agnolotti, and Spanish Octopus.

3. Le Crocodile

Step out in style with a Valentine’s Day dinner at Le Crocodile in Williamsburg’s Wythe Hotel. Their three-course prix fixe, at $148 per person, features dishes like Short Rib Bordelaise with Pommes Duchesse and Black Truffle; Duck Breast with Artichoke, Black Walnut and Puntarelle; Lobster Risotto with Uni Butter; a Seafood Tower for Two; and a Passionfruit Tart with Coconut Brise Crust, Coconut Whip Passionfruit Custard, and Curd.

4. La Goulue

La Goulue, the Upper West Side staple of classic French cuisine, will offer a 4-course, $140 per person prix fixe menu this Valentine’s Day. Dishes include Escargots with Foie Gras, Salade Lyonnaise, Steak au Poivre, and Tarte Tatin, among many other options.

5. Benoit

If you’re looking for top-notch French fare, then you might want to pop into Midtown’s Benoit this Valentine’s Day. Their 5-course tasting menu, carefully curated by Executive Chef Lucile Plaza, is priced at $125 per person. The restaurant will also offer two specialty wine pairing options crafted specifically for the V-Day menu: “Discovery” at $110, and “Experience” at $150.

6. Daniel

Daniel Boulud’s namesake restaurant will be offering a fine dining French Valentine’s Day menu worth a splurge. Their 5-course prix fixe is $475 per person, with an additional wine pairing available for $225 per person. There will also be a 3-course lunch menu on Valentine’s Day for $195.

7. Le Pavillon

If Daniel is a little out of reach this year, but you’re still looking to have a very special Valentine’s Day dinner, then consider dining at one of Boulud’s other restaurant, like Le Pavillon. Its incredible city views make this restaurant one of the best places to enjoy a French meal in a very New York setting, and the restaurant will be offering a $275 5-course dinner prix fixe menu for Valentine’s Day, as well as a 4-course lunch prix fixe at $125.

8. Grand Brasserie

Grand Brasserie, the larger-than-life French restaurant housed inside NYC’s Grand Central Station, will be offering a 3-course prix-fixe menu for $85 per person, featuring dishes like Foie Gras, Lobster Bisque, Truffle Risotto, Roasted Sea Bass, a Raspberry Macaron, and a Chocolate Tart, among many others. They will also have a special 6-course Black Truffle Tasting Menu just for Valentine’s Day, at $145 per person. It’s one of the best deal’s in town, and the restaurant’s ample seating means you won’t have to fight for a reservation.

9. Le Bilboquet

If a romantic carriage ride through Central Park is on your V-Day bucket list, consider finishing your ride on the park’s southeast side and popping into Le Bilboquet for dinner. This French-inspired bistro is offering a 3-course prix fixe menu for $150 per person, so you and your S.O. can snuggle up in style.

Don’t miss out on the $125 3-course prix fixe menu at Le Rivage, the storied Restaurant Row eatery whose legacy is the product of three generations of the Denamiel family. Its convenient location in the Theater District makes it the perfect spot for a pre-show dinner, so whether you’re coming into the city for an evening on the town, or a local planning a special night out, you can enjoy Seared Scallops, Lobster Thermidor, and a 12-Layer Chocolate Cake for less than the cost of orchestra seats at Maybe Happy Ending.
