France’s 2016 Eurovision Singer Amir Haddad Up For MTV EMA Best French Act

French singer Amir Haddad came into the spotlight this year when he won France sixth place in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. Now he’s headed to MTV European Music Awards, nominated for the Best French Act award.

Originally born in Paris, Haddad began his music career in an Israeli music competition in 2006. Then in 2011, he released his first album, Vayehi. He also performed on France’s singing competition show “The Voice.” This year, he released his second studio album, “Au coeur de moi.”

Haddad’s song “J’ai Cherché” might not have won first place at Eurovision, but it certainly won the hearts of everyone who watched, with its inspiring message to work hard and follow your dreams:

“Like the melody of my song
You’re the one that’s making me strong
I’ll be looking looking for
giving you love with my song.”

Haddad’s smooth, silky vocals have been compared to the likes of John Mayer. On top of that, “J’ai Cherché” has an upbeat tempo, which makes you want to dance.
