BreakBot already met its American audience during a mini-tour last year. And the duo formed by Irfane (the frontman) and Thibaut Berland (the DJ) must have enjoyed it, because they’re back on stage at the Exchange in Los Angeles on Saturday, February 24th.
The duo brilliantly reinvents retro electronic music. Behind his dark glasses and mop of hair, Berland mixes, twists, destroys, and recomposes the solar rhythms of the 80s rendering them almost futuristic.
Pushed to stardom in 2009 with the hit “Baby I’m Yours,” BreakBot has since released two albums both heavily influenced by disco and funk. The latest, “Still Water” (released in 2016 with Ed Banger label), was made for the dance floor.
