The news was eagerly awaited, and was made official by the Consul, Adrien Frier, in a video message: “Many of you asked us to do it, so we did,” he announced. For the very first time in its history, the Consulate General of France in Los Angeles will be holding a Bastille Day concert—100% free, outdoors, open to all, and entirely French.
This grand celebration, imagined in collaboration with Grand Performances, will take place on Tuesday, July 15th from 6 pm to 10 pm on California Plaza in Downtown LA. The program includes a French market, starting at 5:30 pm, combining gastronomy and art de vivre, followed by music, starting at 6 pm. Onstage, several artists have already been announced in the program: the Belle Affaire quartet, who will perform alongside Franco-American singer Hannah Brier; the electro-funk group Geyster; and Joachim Garraud, the pioneering DJ of the French Touch… not to mention a few surprises.

Family-friendly, popular, and open to all, whether French, American or Francophile, this great Bastille Day will mark “the start of a new tradition that has been missing from our festive agenda,” assures the Consul. The event is part of the run-up to the LA Olympic Games in 2028, which will open on July 14th.
It is recommended to RSVP in advance via this link. To learn more, check out the Bastille Day website for the event.
