Shoe Shopping in Paris is at its Best at Le Bon Marché

A room filled with furniture and a large building

When in Paris, whether it’s just for the day or a lifetime, great style goes hand in hand with culture. We hope from store to museum, and vice versa, but how many places boast a perfect blend of both taste and tradition?

For the past few years, Le Bon Marché, the iconic Left Bank department store belonging to LVMH, has been undergoing a facelift to show off just that. Housed in an architectural stunner, the luxury emporium has everything well-to-do Parisians need, from exotic spices to the latest Alaïa dress.

Since this spring, Le Bon Marché has also become the new go-to destination for fashion-forward shoes. Exit the standard shoe racks: the store’s new shoe department is a wonderland of architectural references to the building’s 19th century design, replete with kiosks and nods to elegant sun rooms.

With a layout so well conceived it would feel at home in a theater, strolling from Miu Miu to Ancient Greek Sandals is truly like a walk in the park. Experience late-night shoe shopping in Paris (until 9pm) on Thursdays and Fridays.
