The 2025 Bilingual Education Fair Returns to New York November 1st

People talking at Bilingual Education Fair

Created in 2014 by French Morning in order to bring together major players in New York’s bilingual education scene, and offering a place for families to discover all the options available to them, the Bilingual Fair will return Saturday, November 1st, from 10 am to 3 pm.

This year, French Morning will partner once again with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, to host this event at the magnificent Villa Albertine.

The event is free, but registration is mandatory.

Twenty-plus exhibitors will present their bilingual French-English programs: private and public schools, after-school programs, scholarships, etc. You can meet representatives from schools, all brought together in a single place just for one day.

Seminars

In addition to the wide range of exhibitors, the Bilingual Fair also offers a series of conferences, with an intimate audience, on themes that will allow you to better understand the details of a bilingual education. The program includes:

10am – Growing up Bilingual / Grandir bilingue
Perspective of students who have followed a bilingual program throughout their schooling, discussion moderated by Fabrice Jaumont / Perspective d’étudiants qui ont suivi un parcours bilingue pendant toute leur scolarité, discussion modérée par Fabrice Jaumont

11am – Everything I Got Wrong About Raising a Bilingual Child (in English ??)
? With Tara McAllister, associate professor at New York University and a certified speech-language pathologist.
? With linguistics degrees from Harvard and MIT and tenure in communication sciences at NYU, Tara McAllister should know a thing or two about what it would take to raise a bilingual child. But when she became a mother, she quickly discovered the truth…
No, children aren’t really little sponges for language, and no, that immersion preschool can’t promise that your child will remain proficient even a few years down the road – no matter how steep the tuition.
The truth, she discovered, is both harder and more hopeful… But when families make the right choices, success is possible.
Author of The Bilingual Bubble, the first no-hype guide that punctures the myths and shows what it really takes to raise a bilingual child, Tara McAllister will share her knowledge during this conversation.

12pm – Read in 2 Languages, a new teaching platform
?️ With Madison Nguyen, Instructional Designer at CALEC

1pm – Panel on French in universities in partnership with the Modern Language Association (en Français ?? )
?️ With Emmanuel Buzay of the Modern Language Association
