This April, don’t be afraid to indulge your sweet tooth! Whether or not you celebrate Easter, the holiday is a great opportunity for all sweet tooths to indulge themselves. Fortunately, New York has no shortage of delicious places, French or otherwise, to buy eggs, chickens, rabbits, and other chocolate treats. Here are our recommendations.
Kreuther Handcrafted Chocolate

This year, why not give the gift of Michelin-starred chocolates? Gabriel Kreuther, chef of the two-Michelin-starred establishment that takes his name, also runs a chocolate shop, where he applies his expertise to create a top-of-the-range tasting experience. In collaboration with pastry chef Marc Aumont, this year the Alsatian is offering Easter “Ba-na-nion” cookies made to look like the minions from Despicable Me (and named for one of the songs they sing) via his website. These are shortbread cookies filled with banana and salted caramel ganache, with two eyes and a black belt ($48 for 12). You can also purchase a box of 6 multicolored eggs perfect for Easter ($64). Then there’s the “Krispy treat,” a wafer of dark chocolate, marshmallow and brown rice, topped with milk chocolate nougat with a rabbit design ($48). Kreuther will also offer the “Cordial Bonbon Collection,” 16 bonbons in original flavors (Irish coffee, limoncello, mango tequila sunrise – $48 per box of 16). And let’s not forget his “Cheesecake macarons,” a subtle fusion of these two desserts in mango-passionfruit, pistachio, coffee, red fruit, cheesecake, and chocolate-hazelnut ($84 for 24). Order online now (nationwide delivery or pick up at the restaurant).
