A baguette: soft on the inside, hard on the outside, with a nice crunch to break through before you find the fluffy exterior. Ahh… Frankly, the feelings many Francophones and Francophiles have for bread is a love affair. “My Life in Sourdough” understands the romance perfectly.

Falling somewhere between a romantic and absurdist comedy mixed with a cooking show, this award-winning mini-series presents an intimate portrait of Jeanne, a French woman living in Brooklyn, who is looking for a romance as incredible as bread making. Jeanne navigates the world by and through cooking: she takes scones on a first date as an initial symbolic offering of her affection; a late-night fling teaches her to knead pasta-dough; friends sneak her enviable food off her plate while divulging details of their lives.

Each episode is accompanied by a recipe and a slow-motion recipe video with indispensable cooking tips.

In the upcoming season three, Jeanne finds herself wandering the streets of Paris, where she’s working to get over a break-up and reignite her passion for life, love, and sourdough. But of course, nothing can ever happen easily for Jeanne.

To launch the third season with a bang, “My Life in Sourdough” will be hosting a special sneak-preview screening of season 3 at the William Vale in Brooklyn on the evening of April 11. There will be a moderated Q&A with the filmmaker and creator, Marie C., who also plays Jeanne, following the screening. To win tickets to attend this exclusive screening, fill out the form below:
