Gérard Depardieu will be having a little New York adventure, much to the delight of city’s Francophones and Francophiles alike. Monday, September 18, he’ll present his autobiography, Innocent, at FIAF (French Institute Alliance Française) of New York City. The conversation will happen in french and english, with translation provided.

His stories were first told in a french version, released in 2015 in France by Cherche-midi. The english translation has only just now made it to US shores, hence offering Depardieu a great excuse to visit the Big Apple. Cinema, politics, friendship, and his interest in religion (notably Buddhism and Islam) are just a few of the topics the Frenchman touches on in his book. “I discuss in full my screw-ups and misconduct. Because that’s where the truth is. And if you never slip up, it’s often the case that you’re a jerk,” says Depardieu.

The book is also available for presale on Amazon.com, to be released on November 1.
