Ten days, 125 films, 27 countries represented, and 7 screening rooms: this is what makes up the Brooklyn Film Festival (BFF).
From June 1-10, 2018, this Brooklyn-bred-and-based film festival will screen feature films, animations, experimental works, documentaries, and shorts themed around the the theme “threshold,” or, crossing a threshold into greater understanding.
Tied with Spain and Germany as the third-most represented country in the festival, France has six works in the program. All six submissions are less than 25 minutes each. Two films, “The Christmas Rabbit” (Le Lapin de Noel) and “Jonno’s Dead,” will have their U.S. premieres at BFF, while the other four submissions will be screening on the East Coast for the first time. A notable work among the East Coast premieres is “Under Mom’s Skirt” (Les trompes de ma mère), a funny narrative short about a woman who must accompany her French mother to the gynecologist to act as her translator.
