British-French singer and actress Charlotte Gainsbourg is on a world tour and will be performing at the Panorama Music Festival in NYC on Friday, July 28th.
The daughter of English actress Jane Birken and French singer/songwriter Serge Gainsbourg, Charlotte Gainsbourg made her debut as a singer when she was just 13 years old. She has led an incredibly successful music career, with her latest album, Rest, winning her the Female Aritst of the Year award at the Victoires de la Musique awards ceremony in 2018.
In regards to this album, she states, “The album took a different direction. I wanted to express [my grief] not only with sadness but with anger.”
Her lyrics, as well as her self-directed videos, are commended for their vulnerability and intimate recounts of her experience with grief.
