Restaurant Week à la française! From October 1st to 14th, more than 1,500 restaurants will participate in a restaurant week of sorts in Paris and other French cities, called Tous au Restaurant (everyone to the restaurant). The reservations open September 25th at 10:00 a.m. Paris time (4:00 a.m. EST), and can only be made on the Tous au Restaurant site, run by La Fourchette.

With a breadth of food types and prices spanning as wide as New York’s restaurant week, the 9th edition of Tous au Restaurant includes upscale restaurants such as Aux Lyonnais and Plaza Athénée, as well as relaxed bistros and specialty cuisine restaurants. This event is family friendly, so children are welcome.

The purpose of restaurant week is to make normally expensive restaurants more affordable so the general public can enjoy them; this year, Tous au Restaurant includes the deal “1 menu acheté = 1 menu offert,” or one meal bought equals one meal offered for free. This BOGO deal makes restaurant week ideal for date night, one-on-one time with a friend, or even a group dinner (just be sure to have an even number of people). It’s important to reserve your spot early — each restaurant offers only 2 or 3 tables per meal service, and last year, more than 350 reservations were made per minute on the first day.
