Attention, bread lovers in New Orleans, we have good news: the Best Baguette competition is coming your way!
New Orleanians will know which bakeries cook the best baguettes in NOLA. But first—before the professionals step in—we need the locals to tell us who deserves to compete for ultimate bragging rights. Use the form below to nominate your favorite New Orleans baguette-makers for Baguette Battle New Orleans 2017. As for which establishment you can nominate, everything goes: high-quality chain stores, adorable pastry shops, and cozy local bakeries are all welcome in the competition. The only requirement is that they make their own bread! The competition is open to all bakeries and baguette-making establishments in the metropolitan area (i.e. the eight parishes of the Greater New Orleans area.)
Once all the nominations are in, we’ll tally the results and announce a list of finalists who will be competing in the June 1st final taste-off. At the event, a jury of experts and enlightened celebrity amateurs will sample the baguettes and award the Grand Prix to the best. During the event, guests will have the chance to taste each finalist’s bread (with a selection of cheese, charcuterie, and wine, of course!).
The final competition takes place Thursday, June 1st at the Southern Food and Beverage Museum. Tickets are on sale now, with the first 100 selling at the earlybird rate of 50% off!
