Who will succeed Bouchon as the best baguette in Los Angeles? Two years after Thomas Keller’s bakery took home the grand prize, French Morning is organizing a second edition of the popular Best Baguette competition. And once again, we need your help!

It is, in fact, up to the readers of Frenchly and French Morning to select the finalists for this major competition. Just fill out the form below with the makers of your favorite baguettes (submission period ends January 21st). There are no restrictions: chains, grocery stores and small local bakeries are all allowed, as long as they make their own baguettes from scratch.

The bakers with the most votes will enter the final round. At the final round, a winner will be selected by a jury of professionals during a large tasting that’s open to the public to attend. Among our jury members this year : chefs Ludo Lefebvre, Vincent Samarco, and Tony Esnault.

This final will take place on Saturday, February 16, from 12pm to 3pm at Le Petit Paris. Tickets are already on sale here for early bird prices. The jury will be doing a blind taste test to ensure that the competition is fair. The public, meanwhile, will be able to walk between the stands of the finalists and decide for themselves which baguette is best, with a selection of jams, coffee, and a glass of wine to help them make a choice. Whichever baker gets the most votes from the attendees will with the Public Prize. Those interested in attending also have the choice to buy a brunch package.
