Visit French Museums (for Free!) during Nuit Européennes des Musées

A room that has a clock on the side of a building

This “Night at the Museum” will not be starring Ben Stiller. Across 30 European countries, the “Nuit Européenne des Musées” will have museums all over the continent opening their doors late into the night to allow anyone who wants to visit to do so — for free.

On Saturday, May 19, approximately 60 museums in Paris and hundreds (and hundreds) more across France will participate in the Nuit des Musées. In Paris, the participating museums include the Louvre, Musée d’Orsay, Centre Pompidou, Musée Picasso, and the Musée des Arts et Metiers. Light shows, tours, talks, workshops, and conferences are all planned for the evening.

French châteaux are among the cultural institutions that will stay open late. Besides the Palais de Versailles, here are 10 more châteaux to give a midnight visit to around France.

See a map of all participating locations and events planned throughout the evening here.
