Tickets are on sale for the eighth year of the multi-skill festival “Crossing the Line” which will take place from September, 8 to October, 20.
Hosted by the French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF), the festival displays a range of innovative pieces on the fringes of the art world.
The program is, once again, rather eclectic. Three pieces will be making their global debut this year.
On the 8th of September, “Models never talk” will take place in Milk Studios in the West Village, presented by Olivier Saillard, the fashion historian. This performance will consists of seven former models who will break through the fashion world’s omerta to reveal the person behind the image, the soul behind the style.
The headline act will take place on October 2nd. Patti Smith and her daughter Jesse will join forces with the sound experimentation group Soundwalk to enact poetry written by Nico, lead singer of the band Velvet Underground and an icon of the 1960s. The performance will take place in the Florence Gould Hall of the FIAF.
Finally, with her performance “Travelling Lady”, the New York based Colombian artist Jessica Mitrani will conjure the daring spirit of Nellie Bly, the American journalist who pioneered investigative journalism. Spanish actress Rossy de Palma, known for being Pedro Almodovar’s muse, will play multiple roles in this artistic experience which will take place on 9th and 10th of October on the stage of the Florence Gould Hall in the Lower East Side.
