It’s not hard to find videos online complaining about the French, whether it’s their bureaucracy, language… or more bureaucracy. But there are quite a few things you’d be surprised the French do very well, as explained by Rosie of Not Even French in this video.
Some things are a given. “I don’t even need to mention French food,” she says, and the same is true for healthcare and the arts. Other things are a little less tangible. For example, Rosie sings the praises of the French as being loyal, well-rounded, and excellent at debate. But the proof is in the pudding for other things, like their business prowess (France has the world’s 7th largest economy) and quality of life (France is ranked the top nationality in the world to have). Even French trains are top notch, which she hypothesizes is simply excellent “infrastructure for their vacation culture.”
Either way, this is the perfect opportunity to take a moment to appreciate the nuances of French culture and the ways in which it excels… even if you don’t listen to EDM.
