The Best Dressed on the Cannes Runway

The Met Gala may be behind us, but when it comes to fêtes of fashion, even when the US does it up, France does it right.

The 2019 Cannes film festival kicked off last week, and the red carpet looks have been unbelievable. Even more so when you think about how much the creme de la creme of cinema and fashion must be sweating in all that tulle.

American actress Elle Fanning came out as a surprise stunner in an epoch-defying Dior ensemble, while Canadian model Winnie Harlow showed a lot of leg in a red hot Jean Paul Gaultier dress. Kendall Jenner rocked it in a hot pink tulle gown that screamed Giambattista Valli (which she later detached the skirt from to transition to a flirty cocktail dress while maintaining all the pomp and floof of the original gown). And former French First Lady Carla Bruni arrived in a simple, but elegant, black dress from Celine.

Now that we’ve gotten the fashion out of the way, time to get back to focusing on the film. Stay tuned for more on what Cannes 2019 has to offer.
