He said he was tired. He said he wanted a break. But that was way back in September, so get ready Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, OR, Oakland and NYC: Stromae is planning another North American tour.
It seems like ages since Stromae first caused a buzz in 2009 with his hit “Alors on danse” (so we dance). The electronic pulse and powerful lyrics made Paul Van Haver (his real name) a veritable icon after only two albums “Cheese” and “Racine Carrée” (translation: square root).
The dizzying ascent to the top of the charts soon had the Belgian singer begging for a break from it all. His last album was the best-selling album in France in 2013, but his fans seemed more or less ok with the idea that Stromae was looking to “get back to normal life.”
But the same fans who cheered him on in that pursuit will probably be happy to know that the maestro has just announced the dates for a North American tour in 2015. From April 5th until April 9th, he’ll hit cities on the West Coast before returning in October 2015 to play the holy grail of all venues: Madison Square Garden.
Tickets for these shows are on sale now so hurry up if you’re hoping to catch Stromae live before he takes another break from show biz.
