The PSG — the legendary Paris Saint-Germain soccer team — will be spending the entire month of July in the US. Coach Laurent Blanc is taking his team to the North American International Champions Cup from July 11th until August 5th, and other illustrious European teams will be joining the fun.
The PSG will play FC Porto for its first match in Toronto on July 18th (8:30pm EST). On July 21st they’ll play against Italian team Fiorentina at the Red Bull Arena in New Jersey (8:30pm EST). During their stop in the Mid-Atlantic region, the team will meet the young hopefuls of the PSG Academy, a bilingual soccer camp founded by former player Zohair Ghenania. Then they’ll head to Charlotte, North Carolina for a July 25th game against Chelsea (6:00pm EST) before concluding their tour in Chicago to play against Manchester United on July 29th (7:00pm EST).
PSG not coming to your city? Don’t despair: there’ll be other exciting games across the US. Pasadena, California will host FC Barcelona for a game against LA Galaxy. In Washington, DC, fans can enjoy Chelsea vs. Barca and in Santa Clara, California, Manchester will play Barcelona (you can see the whole calendar here).
A record number of teams are participating in this year’s tournament, which was launched in 2013. Whichever team has the most points after playing four games will be declared the winner. Manchester won last year’s North American International Champions Cup.
