We know that Paris is the capital of style. This fall, the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology proves that the city holds the title of capital of fashion with its exhibit “Paris, Capital of Fashion.”

The full glamour and beauty of Paris fashion is on display in this exploration of why France’s capital has earned this reputation as a mecca for fashion and how Paris’s fashion permeates around the globe. Among the approximately 100 objects, dating from the 18th century to the present, there are gowns donned at Versailles, haute couture Christian Dior and Chanel suits.

Curated by Dr. Valerie Steele, director of The Museum at FIT, the exhibit will be on display at FIT from September 6 to January 4. Admission is free.
