It’s time to show your favorite baker some love! After New York, Miami, Los Angeles, and Washington, we are bringing the Best Baguette competition to Chicago.
How does it work?
Step One: You, the public and dear readers, nominate your favorite baguettes (up to three choices) on the form below. There are no restrictions: chains, grocery stores, small independent bakeries—everything is allowed, as long as the baguette is homemade (and we’ll verify that it is!) The contest is open to all bakers of the Chicago Metropolitan Area (re: Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, and Will counties in Illinois, and Lake County in Indiana).
Step Two: From the submissions, a list of the top baguette bakers will emerge. We’ll convene a jury of culinary experts (and a few amateurs) to judge the best baguette, once and for all. The final judgment will take place at a massive event on February 16th, 2017, at Sofitel Chicago. The event is open to the public and will bring together all the nominees for an unparalleled display of baking prowess and baguette tasting. Tickets are available here.
