Like a cat, Netflix’s hit French comedy Dix Pour Cent (Call My Agent!) seems to be aiming for at least nine lives. The show has already been greenlit for a film, a surprise fifth season, a British adaptation, plus Turkish and South Korean spinoffs. The show, which centers around the antics of Paris’s top talent agents, has become a smash success thanks to its sense of humor, excellent cast, and rotating cameos of some of France’s actual biggest stars.
Netflix has just dropped the teaser trailer for Call My Agent: Bollywood, starring Aahana Kumra (“Lipstick Under My Burkha”), Ayush Mehra (“Please Find Attached”), Rajat Kapoor (“Kadakh”) and Soni Razdan (“Yours Truly”) in what looks to be pretty spot-on Indian versions of ASK’s Matthias, Gabriel, Andrea, and Arlette. The show will, of course, feature appearances from huge Bollywood stars, to be announced.
It’s not surprising that one of the world’s largest and most distinctive film industries would want their own version of this story, but it will be interesting to see how the adaptation stacks up to the original.
