Afro-Trap’s MHD Disputes the 19th Arrondissement’s “No-Go Zone” Reputation

Fox News and politicians have referred to the 19th arrondissement of Paris as a “no-go zone,” falsely claiming that those areas are hotbeds of Muslim radicalization, and that the neighborhoods ressemble Iraq and Afghanistan.

In reality, these neighborhoods are diverse beds of culture, a melting pot of French citizens born in France, hailing from other countries, and with ancestors from other countries. For Afro-Trap prince MHD, on of these disproven no-go zones is home. The 19th arrondissement is where he gets his inspiration. For him, his friends, and his family, the neighborhood is a community they love. According to MHD, the politicians and the media don’t know what it’s like on the inside, and only make their points from the outside looking in. His pride in the 19th is heartwarming.

In this video by Viceland, MHD explains where he gets his inspiration from, and in interviews with his friends and other residents of the 19th arrondissement, it’s apparent that this “no-go zone” is home to a vibrant, loving French community.
