Marine Le Pen Sets Sight on Parliamentary Vote

A man holding a sign

Defeated in the French presidential election, Front National (National Front) party leader Marine Le Pen immediately started looking ahead, to the legislative elections that will happen in France in June.

Currently, the Front National holds two seats in France’s parliament, but with their popularity growing, as evidenced by Le Pen’s success making it to the second round of the election, it’s possible that they could win more.

In her concession speech, Le Pen announced that she would be the leader of the opposition, expressing her hope to get a lot of votes for the Front National in the June elections.

How well they do in the parliamentary elections could determine the future of the Front National, whether it will remain strong and influential over France’s politics, or whether its popularity dies down.
