It was predicted by the internet that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and French President Emmanuel Macron would have a fantastic bromance. At the G7 conference in Italy this week, that prediction was proven true.
Trudeau and Macron, ages 45 and 39, respectively, wandered through a garden overlooking the Mediterranean, and while we can’t hear what they’re saying, we know that they look great while they’re saying it.

L'amitié franco-canadienne a un nouveau visage. @JustinTrudeau, à nous de relever les défis de notre génération ! #G7Taormina pic.twitter.com/8EdQopviov

Both men tweeted about it soon after, Trudeau writing, “sitting down with Emmanuel Macron for the first time, talking jobs, security & climate — looking forward to more conversations, my friend.” Macron accompanied a clip of the pair walking together with a few words in French: “The Franco-Canadian friendship has a new face. Justin Trudeau, we have to meet the new challenges of our generation! #G7Taormina”
Trudeau and American President Barack Obama had a great bromance, until Obama left office. It’s doubtful that President Donald Trump will have a bromance with either of the two young, socially liberal leaders with whom he differs politically and in temperment. The internet doesn’t seem to mind though, being entirely preoccupied by finally getting a first glimpse of the Macron-Trudeau bromance they’ve been wanting.
