Keep Spinning in Paris (with Ballerinas!) at Dynamo Cycling

A few well-chosen words are often used to describe Soul Cycle, the indoor cycling craze that has swept over the United States: cultish, transformational, revolutionary… it was only a matter of time before France wanted its fair share of workout heaven, too.

Enter Dynamo Cycling, Paris’ version of the extreme spinning class. Sure, you’re on vacation, but if you do choose to keep spinning in Paris, Dynamo, located only a few steps east of the Opéra Garnier, is a welcome remedy to a long day of eating the world’s best éclairs and macarons.

All the ingredients for success are right there: dark room, candles, loud music, and motivating coaches. Participants clip on cycling shoes and depart on a 45 minute-long voyage that tests their determination – and gives calories a serious beating. Bien sur, it wouldn’t be France without a special little something extra: several coaches hail from the Paris Opera Ballet, making sure that you’re in the best hands possible.

There’s no guarantee that you’ll be pirouetting on your way out, but one thing is for sure: you’ll come back for more.
