Karlie Kloss Learns How to Make Pastries with Cédric Grolet

Though many of you may have dreamt of running off to pastry school in Paris à la Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina, it’s doubtful that you’ve imagined a pastry lesson quite like this.

In this video by Vogue Paris, American model Karlie Kloss visits chef Cédric Grolet, who in 2018 was named the World’s Best Pastry Chef. Grolet rose to fame in part because of his signature desserts designed to look (and taste) like fruit, which became the subject of his 2017 book, Fruits. One of Grolet’s most famous faux fruits, his fraise, or strawberry, is the subject of this video. Watch Grolet try to teach a struggling Kloss how to make one of these sugary beauties and try to keep your mouth from watering.

Grolet is currently the master pâtissier at Le Meurice Hotel in Paris, working under culinary legend Alain Ducasse. But unless you feel like spending a small fortune, you’ll have to wait to get your hands on one of these strawberries until Grolet’s next pop-up at Dominique Ansel. As if buying fresh produce in New York didn’t cost enough.
