French actress Juliette Binoche stars in her latest film, “Camille Claudel 1905”, which recounts the confinement of the French sculptor.  The film was released at Film Forum on October 16.

Released in France to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the death of Camille Claudel, it takes audiences back to a dark time in the life of the artist; the period during which her family had her involuntary confined.  The film, which chronicles the reclusive life of Camille Claudel as she awaits a visit from her brother Paul, aims to depict a faithful account of the artist’s life.

“Camille Claudel 1905” was filmed in an actual psychiatric hospital with real patients. It was released to critical acclaim in France, with a brilliant performance by Juliette Binoche.
