A delicious service is making its debut in New York City. Hush-Hush, a private chef and catering company specializing in French cuisine opened its “doors” in December 2017. Owners, chefs, and husband and wife team, Benjamin and Julie invite you to discover a new concept: “a French restaurant that comes to you.” Literally.
The idea is simple: wine and dine in the warmth of your maison to a French menu inspired by family dishes and traditions, cooked by French chefs.
An entrepreneurial pair, Julie and Benjamin lived and worked in some of the most culinary-rich cities in France, like Paris, Bordeaux, and Nice. There, they spent a lot of time cooking for friends and family. Special events, mainly birthdays, were an excellent way for them to share their joy of cooking with loved ones. With Hush-Hush, the family hopes to bring the same joy and warmth into the homes of others.
With a menu that changes monthly and compliments the seasons, Hush-Hush offers three levels of service depending on how much you want to step away from the process: food cooked in your home and served to you at the table, food cooked in your home but Julie and Benjamin leave so you can pretend you made it, and delivery. All ingredients are local, fresh, and mostly organic. When asked what meal these talented cuisiniers preferred making, their reply came straight from the heart: “The ones that make my guests happy, the dishes of the season, of the moment; each dish is tied to a moment in our lives.”
As a little girl, Julie prepared meals with her grandmother in the kitchen and dreamed of one day owning a restaurant. When Julie and Benjamin paired up, they quickly learned they shared Julie’s dream. Benjamin had an excellent idea to start an in-home service. Together with their son, Adam, this culinary family brought their foodie vision to life. After visiting a handful of cities, they agreed that New York would be the best place to pursue their innovative concept. Eager to share their culinary secrets, the family decided, “If we can make it in New York City, we can make it anywhere.”
