Sometimes going to the pharmacy can be a bit overwhelming, especially in America where companies are always trying to get you to buy their best new products. But in France, simplicity is the key to gorgeous complexion.

At least according to French model and it-girl Jeanne Damas, who took Vogue Beauty through the pharmacy, picking her favorite essentials.

“French women love pharmacy products, because… they’re good for you. They’re not full of alcohol or chemicals,” said Damas. And most importantly, “They’re odorless, and I don’t like strong, sweet flowery smells.”

Maybe the French do pharmaceutical beauty products different than we do in the U.S., because it’s not always easy to find products without the extra dosage of unhealthy chemicals. But, for Damas, natural beauty is the most important, and the products she uses, as well as her beauty routines, reflect that.
