Mark your calendar. From Friday, April 26, to Tuesday, April 30, Focus on French Cinema, a short film festival organized by the Alliance Française de Greenwich, will hold its new edition in several cinemas located in Greenwich, Stamford and New York.

The festival’s program includes seventeen award-winning films, some of which are being shown for the first time in the United States. Among them, the film’s inaugural feature, “Le mystère Henri Pick” (Friday, April 26, at 11am at Bow Tie Cinemas in Greenwich, CT). Directed by Rémi Bezançon and starring Fabrice Luchini, Camille Cottin and Alice Isaaz, the film tells the story of a literary critic seeking to find out the true story behind the publication of a mysterious bestseller.

The festival will be closed by a screening of “L’Amour Flou” (Tuesday, April 30, at 7:30 p.m. at the FIAF in New York). This feature film directed by and starring Romane Bohringer and Philippe Rebbot tells the story of the unusual lifestyle of a former couple living separately in apartments connected by their child’s room. Bohringer will participate in a question-and-answer session at the end of the film.

For this fifteenth edition, the organizers have chosen to highlight young filmmakers, such as 19-year-old director Nathan Ambriosoni, who has been compared to Xavier Dolan. Her film “Les Drapeaux de Papier” (Saturday, April 27, at 12:30 p.m. at Bow Tie Cinemas in Greenwich, CT) explores the fragile relationship of a sister trying to help her emotionally unstable brother. The director will be present for the screening. Another star-power guest: director Geneviève Dulude-De Celles, for her feature film “Une Colonie” (Saturday, April 27, at 5:10 p.m. at Bow Tie Cinemas in Greenwich, CT), in which a teenager is navigating uncharted territory: high school.
