Drink Up without Going Hungry at Le Mary Celeste

While a quality cocktail bar in Paris may have been difficult to find just a few years back, these days you can head to the Upper Marais or SoPi (South Pigalle) and that’s pretty much all you’ll find. But even though it’s gotten easier to indulge in good libations, it’s not always a simple task to have something decent to munch on at the same time.

At Le Mary Celeste, you won’t have that issue. What you might have trouble with, however, is deciding the order in which to try every single one of the small plates on the menu. Here’s the plan we recommend: start with a cocktail and get ready to be surprised. Mustard seed suddenly becomes a perfect cocktail ingredient, as does beetroot. Once you’ve opened up your appetite – and we can guarantee you will – let your inspiration guide you. Deviled eggs with ginger are creamier than anything you’ve ever tasted at your neighborhood potluck. Pork tacos easily rival their cousins at Candelaria, pretty much next door.

What’s for dessert? Our advice: just order it all. That, and another cocktail. And perhaps another round of small plates – strongly recommended.
