Paris at Christmas-time is a decadent foodie paradise, and we’re ready for it – are you? Here are the 12 ultimate edible moments for a very Parisian Noël.

1. Champagne at Hotel Plaza Athenee – 25 Avenue Montaigne, 75008

At the Plaza Athénée, the list of champagne is from the best maisons: Veuve Clicquot, Perrier-Jouët, Pommery, and more. We love the P2 (Second Plénitude) Dom Pérignon 1998 — these rare “plenitude” champagnes are uncommon and exceptionally good.

2. Caviar at Caviar Kaspia – 17 Place de la Madeleine, 75008

Caviar Kaspia is a place to celebrate, even when dining on some unglamorous borscht at one of their elegant tables, and even more when sampling their perfect caviars.

3. Oysters and More at Le Bar à Huîtres Place des Vosges – 33 boulevard Beaumarchais, 75003

Paris at Christmas is oysters on the half-shell and the conviviality of friends, per this menu.

4. Pâté en croûte with foie gras at Petrossian – 144 Rue de l’Université, 75007

Pâté en croûte is thriving — just look at this perfect example! Petrossian also offers an “introduction to caviar” tasting.

5. Roast poultry and game birds at Le Coq Rico – 98 Rue Lepic, 75018

The farm-raised heritage birds on Chef Westermann’s menu are an education on how far “simple roast chicken” can go when handled by a master chef at this Bistro of Beautiful Birds.

6. Cheese from Laurent Dubois – 97-99 Rue Saint-Antoine, 75004

Say “French cheese” and Brillat-Savarin’s quote “A dessert without cheese is like a beautiful woman with only one eye” comes to mind. But Laurent Dubois’ outstanding, never-to-be-forgotten cheeses can make you forget how much you might want to argue with Brillat-Savarin over his possibly sexist commentary.

7. Bûches de Noël at Fou de Patisserie – 45 Rue Montorgueil, 75002

This pastry concept store is Everything. It’s like a museum of patisserie but better.

8. Roast chestnuts at Four Seasons George V – 31 avenue George V, 75008

When you want a simple roast chestnut, prepared by a smiling French chef, on a penthouse terrace at George V … they have you covered.

Gingerbread at Sebastien Gaudard – 22 Rue des Martyrs, 75009

Pain d’épices is indispensable to Noël. Take some for gifting at Sebastien Gaudard!

Hot Chocolate at Angelina – 226 rue de Rivoli, 75001

Lunch Bio et Bon at Wild and The Moon – 55 Rue Charlot, 75003

An incredibly chic place for a detox if you’ve been eating a teensy bit too much.
