It’s official. Dîner en blanc returns for its third year on Friday, October 6. Sign-ups for the waiting list are open.
This secret event assembles several thousand happy picnickers for an outdoor party and night of DIY showing off. As tradition dictates, the location is kept a secret until the last minute, only to be revealed two hours before the party begins.
The dress code is non-negotiable: head to toe in white. Accessories, tables, chairs, and table decorations must also all be in white. Guests bring their own folding table, two chairs, tablecloth, napkins, cutlery, plats, food, and decorations. An unspoken competition takes place for who can DIY the best, most original decorations and costumes, so if you’re attending, pass on the sandwiches and candles. Think bigger: pâté, confit de canard, and mousse au chocolat, and trellises, chandeliers, and fake doves. As for alcohol, don’t think any bigger than wine and champagne (all other alcohol is prohibited).
Members, those not yet on the waiting list (but want to be), and those interested in volunteering can register and join the waiting list here.
