Chanel on the Red Carpet in Cannes

The 2018 Cannes Film Festival ended this past Saturday, leaving invited guests with strong impressions thanks to movies like Shoplifters, The House That Jack Built, and BlacKkKlansmen.

But it wasn’t just the films that made a lot of noise at Cannes. The red carpet was swarmed with celebrities showing off their very best, with French fashion designers vying just as much as film directors for a good review. In this visual love letter to Cannes and haute couture by Chanel, you’ll get to see the French fashion house’s mark on this year’s red carpet. Chanel interviewed Cannes juror and American actress Kristen Stewart, French actress Anna Mouglalis, and Karl Lagerfeld’s longtime muse and model Vanessa Paradis on why they came to Cannes and why they love Chanel.

The best part of the video is getting to see a new version of the label on fashion rebel Stewart, whose heavily bobby-pinned ombre mullet and dramatic makeup were an unexpected and fabulous compliment to the sparkly Chanel structured shift dress she’s seen stepping out of a limo in. The brand supports so many different faces, letting them each shine in their own way, for as Mouglalis says, “wearing Chanel, you’re never in disguise.”
