All The French Beauty Products You Need For Your Pregnancy

Pregnancy is demanding: physically, emotionally, and financially.

Yet somehow, French women seem to make pregnancy (and motherhood) look effortless. Take Estée Lauder Global Beauty Director and makeup artist Violette, whose daughter Ines was born just last month. In this video, filmed at the nine month mark, Violette looks improbably serene and beautiful, as she shares the beauty products that helped her get through a difficult pregnancy. Her focus is on products that are clean and won’t harm the baby, like Erbaviva Organic Deodorant and La Roche-Posay Soothing Lotion. Products range from pharmacy staples to higher-end items, but she includes a list of alternate products in the video description for moms-to-be looking for lower-budget items or things they can purchase in the US.

The big tips? Less product is always a good idea, moisturize as much as possible, and “organic” isn’t always better. Avoid harmful products like essential oils and drugstore deodorants, and make sure, above all else, that what you are using isn’t just good for you, but that it makes you feel good to use it.
