In the world of professional tennis, there are few countries that can claim dominance in the way France can. The yearly Roland Garros tennis tournament, commonly known as the French Open, is held every year at the Roland Garros stadium in Paris, and tennis players and aficionados alike come from all over the world to attend.
This year, one highly-anticipated player is Dominic Thiem, the 25-year-old Austrian tennis champ who reached his first Grand Slam title at the French Open last year. In this Roland Garros video, Thiem gets quizzed on his French history, food, and pronunciation. Thiem gets asked to do things like identify the Paris catacombs from a photographs, rank French cheeses on a scale of stinkiness, and try out one of the longest and most complicated French tongue twisters you will ever hear.
As we move into French Open season starting later this month, one thing is for certain: we will be seeing a lot more of Dominic Thiem. And he’ll have much more challenging tests ahead of him than this tongue twister!
