The 2018 Guide to Francophone Summer Camps in Florida

Spring has just arrived and yet we must already start planning for summer vacation. If you’re looking for activities to keep kids busy, here are some French summer camps in Florida.

Association des Petits Écoliers de Miami

Budding reporters will be delighted to take part in this summer camp organized by the Association de Petits Écoliers Miami (APEM) on the theme of journalism from June 11 to 22 in Weston. During two weeks, children ages 4 to 10 years old will learn about being an editor, photographer, or radio host, through various activities in French on French culture and language. It’s a full-immersion camp, though French and non-French speakers are welcome. $250 per week or $225 for any registration before April 30th. More information here.

Camp Lingua

Camp Lingua organizes four sessions of two-week summer camps in Miami and the surrounding region, from June 11 to August 3, for children from 4 to 10 years old. Learning language while having fun, young campers have the opportunity to learn more about French history and culture through arts and crafts workshops and various sports activities. This is a full immersion camp open to French and non-French speakers. $275 per week or $259 for any registration before May 31st. More information here.

NotJustMath Tutoring Center

If you want to introduce your child to Thales, Pythagoras and their theorems, NotJustMath Tutoring Center offers summer camps devoted to mathematics. The school in North Miami, which offers support classes in French during the school year, leaves its doors open during the holidays so that every student can get back to school without any worries of being behind. $39 per hour of support. Le Petit Prince

“Vive les vacances!” is the theme of this summer camp, planned for June 4 to July 27, organized by the French international school, Le Petit Prince, in Coconut Creek, near Boca Raton. The school offers reading workshops, water activities, dance, and theatre, without forgetting moments of peace and rest, to kids age 4 to 12 years old. $300 a week. More information here.

Miami Kiteboarding

The most adventurous kids who want to learn different water sports like kitesurfing, stand up paddle board, kayaking, or wakeboarding, can participate in the French language summer camps offered by Miami Kiteboarding. The courses, aimed at children aged 8 to 14, will take place in one-week sessions from June 11 to August 10, from 10am to 4pm, on Crandon Park Beach in Key Biscayne. $295 per week or $225 for any registration before April 15th. Paris Saint-Germain Academy Florida

For soccer fans, Paris Saint-Germain Academy Florida is organizing six one-week courses from June 11 to August 17, allowing kids to train like real professionals. The practice sessions, which will be organized by age group, are open to children ages 7 to 12 and will take place on different soccer fields in Miami and Palm Beach. This camp is open to English speakers. $340 a week. More information here.
