Each month, Frenchly offers an opportunity to do something cool, different, and uniquely New York. In January, over glasses of wine and French conversation, we blindfolded ourselves and sculpted some truly bizarre-looking faces at Unarthodox. Playing with clay was the perfect way for us jaded New Yorkers to bring some joie de vivre to a cold, dark January night.
This February, we’ve found the perfect way to escape the cold weather and hot political news cycle. You’ve likely seen pictures of friends posing in a 1940s film-noir detective’s office, holding a white board with “51:46” written on it. You’ve certainly noticed cryptic Facebook ads for things that aren’t movies or video games…but what are they? These are the frightening-turned-fun escape rooms.
Frenchly and French Morning have teamed up with BrainXcape, New York’s latest immersive escape room experience. Owned by a team of French entrepreneurs, BrainXcape hired bonafide Hollywood art directors to create intricately styled, authentic–and totally creepy–sets for you and your friends to explore, and escape. Horror fans will love the eerie Hotel Room game, while strategic, sneaky types will prefer the Prison Cell. And because Frenchly knows you love a challenge–New York En Vrai participants will be placed in groups of half French, half American escapees. You’ll have one hour to build trust, solve puzzles, and navigate languages.
