Today marks the launch of the seventh annual MyFrenchFilmFestival, a month-long festival and competition that runs until 13th February. MyFrenchFilmFestival allows audiences all over the world to discover an eclectic selection of new French films.
Hosted by UniFrance and taking place online, MyFrenchFilmFestival features a line-up of 10 features and 10 shorts made by new generation French filmmakers. For an entire month, international audiences will be able to stream the films, call in their votes, and leave comments via the website.
Beside the 20 competing films, MyFrenchFilmFestival will also stream six additional beloved French films. Some of the films will even enjoy a public screening (at the festival’s site). The films will also feature in-flight, exclusively on partnering airlines.
Between now and February 13th, the films will compete for the prestigious Cinematographer prize, awarded by a jury lead by Argentine director Pablo Trapero. Additional prizes include the Audience Choice Prize, and the International Press Prize.
This year, MyFrenchFilmFestival hopes to beat last year’s record of 6.5 million views worldwide.
