How to Make Baguette with Julia Child

Mastering the Art of French Cooking. If you don’t have a copy, then your parents definitely do and they’ve promised to give it to you later.

One of America’s most beloved chefs, Julia Child began her long cooking career in France. She learned the craft, worked hard at it, and wrote the best-selling cookbook Mastering the Art of French Cooking with Simone Beck and Louisette Bertholle. Upon returning to the United States, she began working on her TV cooking show The French ChefFor 10 years, Child worked in her kitchen teaching Americans how to cook freakout-free, minimal-fuss French dishes, and always with her kind and patient spirit.

For National French Bread Day (aka baguette day), head to the kitchen and spend some time learning to cook baguette with Julia Child. Or, for a shorter and more modern video, here’s a great no-knead bread video tutorial. In the words of Julia Child, bon appetit!
